Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of GetThrough (https://www.getthrough.to), including our website, applications, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By creating an account, paying for a conversation, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The Service is offered worldwide, subject to applicable export controls and sanctions. You are responsible for ensuring your use complies with local laws in your jurisdiction.

2. The Service

GetThrough lets creators publish a public profile where visitors can pay a fixed fee to start a paid conversation. Each payment starts one conversation around a single question — not a metered or open-ended chat.

Profile owners choose their price per question and a reply-by deadline (for example, 24 or 48 hours). If the profile owner replies within the deadline, the conversation is completed and funds are released according to our payment rules. If the deadline passes without a qualifying reply, the visitor receives an automatic refund.

3. Accounts

You may sign up with an email and password or through supported OAuth providers (Google, Apple, or X). You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.

There are two primary roles on the Service:

  • Profile owners create public pages, set pricing and reply-by deadlines, and respond to paid conversations.
  • Visitors pay to start a conversation with a profile owner and receive a guaranteed reply or an automatic refund.

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, if higher) to use the Service.

4. Payments and refunds

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full payment card details on our servers. The exact fee for each conversation is shown on the profile owner's public page before payment.

GetThrough charges a platform fee on completed conversations. Profile owners receive the remainder when they reply within the agreed reply-by deadline.

If a profile owner misses the reply-by deadline, the visitor is refunded automatically. Refund timing may depend on the visitor's payment method and Stripe's processing times. Chargebacks and payment disputes are handled in accordance with Stripe's policies and applicable law.

5. Profile owner obligations

If you operate a public profile, you agree to:

  • Keep your profile information accurate and not misleading.
  • Reply to paid conversations within your stated reply-by deadline.
  • Provide lawful, good-faith responses that address the visitor's question.
  • Not use the Service to solicit off-platform payments that circumvent our fees or refund guarantees.

6. Prohibited use

You must not:

  • Use the Service for unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive purposes.
  • Harass, threaten, impersonate, or spam other users.
  • Upload or share content that infringes intellectual property or privacy rights.
  • Attempt to bypass security, scrape the Service at scale, or interfere with its operation.
  • Misrepresent your identity, credentials, or affiliation (including through X verification or profile information).

7. Your content

You retain ownership of content you submit (profile text, avatars, messages, and similar material). You grant GetThrough a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, display, and process your content solely to operate and improve the Service.

Public profile information you choose to publish (such as username, bio, and avatar) may be visible to anyone on the internet.

8. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms or if we reasonably believe your use poses risk to others or to the Service.

Termination does not automatically cancel active payment obligations or refund entitlements that arose before termination. Sections that by their nature should survive (including limitations of liability) will survive termination.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Profile owners are independent users; GetThrough does not endorse their advice, opinions, or qualifications beyond what is displayed on their profile.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, GetThrough and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid to GetThrough in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) £100 GBP.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes may also be communicated through the Service. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Contact and governing law

Questions about these Terms: legal@getthrough.to.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Courts in England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country require otherwise.
